Daily Expectations: Students are expected to arrive on time to class, with a positive attitude and all necessary materials including student ID visibly on, notebook, folder, and homework.
Homework: Homework is assigned as it relates to the material being covered in class. Students are expected to complete assigned homework on time. All late work is penalized with a 50% grade reduction for one day late, after that it is a zero. If absent, it is the responsibility of the STUDENT to find out what work and content they missed during their absence. Check the class website for due dates and resources.
Test and Quizzes: Tests will culminate a unit, covering all unit topics discussed or read. Quizzes, on the other hand, may or may not be announced. If a student misses a quiz or test, they must make it up in their own time, after school. It is the responsibility of the STUDENT to arrange a make-up time with the teacher. NO make-up test or quiz will be allowed for unexcused absences.
Cell phone policy: Student will receive a zero on any test or quiz if a cell phone is out during assessments.
Attendance and Absences: Students are expected to attend class daily, to arrive on time, and to participate for the entire period. Regular attendance and participation is critical to the student’s success in this class. If a student is absent, they must have a written explanation from their parent/guardian upon returning to class. It is the responsibility of the STUDENT to find out what work and content they missed during their absence. A student will receive zero credit for an unexcused absence.
Conduct: Most importantly, students are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. Points will be deducted from a student’s grade if they do not comply with the school and classroom rules and procedures; for disrupting class: attendance and/or tardy problems; being off task; using cell phone during instructional time; eating food in class; wearing inappropriate cloths. The teacher reserves the right to deduct points due to the severity of the offence.
Method of Evaluation: Evaluation will be done through tests, quizzes, assignments, class discussion, individual participation, and attendance.
